PC RADAR KIT (ARPA and Radar Overlay to ECDIS)
Using the PC Radar kit, you can turn your PC into an advanced radar
and tracking system. Combining the MARIS PC Radar kit with a
compatible Electronic Chart System you may display the radar image
on top of the chart and operate the tracking system.
Delivered together with the PC Radar Kit, the application ARPA2000
meets all IMO requirements for ARPA and shares the same data as
MARIS ECDIS: AIS and ARPA targets, ENC charts, active route and user
defined object.
The MARIS tracking system has a unique capacity of up to 3,000
targets (Pentium IV), which are tracked automatically and displayed
on request. This unique technology allows the display of new target
much faster than other systems: typically it takes 2 seconds to
display a target and vector.
The PC Radar Kit is delivered with multi ARPA2000 licenses, which
may be installed on several computers operating on a local network
system. An ARPA license is usually installed in the Captains cabin,
which allows him to remotely monitor the radar traffic.
Single PCI card connected directly to the transceiver.
ARPA display or overlay on electronic charts.
Network based.
Full Radar video recording facility.
Scan to scan correlation.
Meets all IMO requirements for ARPA.
OEM SDK toolkit.

Main technical specifications
PCI Universal Radar interface compatible with all radar
transceivers.
Sampling range: 40 MHz (optional 100 MHz)
Range resolution: 3.75 meters (optional 1.5 meters)
Bearing resolution: 1,024 4,096
Number of targets: 3,000
Easy installation with automatic signal threshold adjustments.
Provides ARPA tracking functions even where the Radar is not an ARPA.
Interface Requirements: The PC Radar Kit receives Video, Sync
(Trigger), Azimuth and Heading Marker from the radar and performs
analogue to digital (A/D) conversion of the radar video, synchronized
with sync and antenna rotation.
Video: Positive or negative, up to ± 8 V amplitude, 50 Ohm or 75 Ohm
input resistance. The video signal must be buffered.
Sync (Trigger): Pulses; positive or negative, 50 ns-100 us duration,
PRF 100 Hz 10 KHz, amplitude ± 20 V or RS422.
Antenna Azimuth: Pulses; positive or negative, 7 us 100 ms
duration, frequency 10 Hz 10 KHz, amplitude ± 20 V or RS422.
Heading Marker: Pulses; positive or negative, 7 us 500 ms
duration, amplitude ± 20 V or RS422.
ARPA2000: some features
-
The four step Scan to Scan correlation reduces noise and makes the
radar picture cleaner.
-
The ECDIS chart database can be used with the ARPA2000 allowing direct
access to the light or buoy information.
-
The user may define an automatic target acquisition zone in front of
the ship. CPA/TCPA alarms are displayed for both AIS and ARPA targets
and a simple click gives access to AIS properties
