THE COMPLETE ECDIS TRAINING SOLUTION

INTRODUCTION

ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems) training has been developed by Mobile Marine Technology with commercial fleet operators in mind.

Conversion to ECDIS navigation systems is, for now, a voluntary process. But there is little doubt that operators will soon be required to convert from more traditional methods.

Current resolutions by flag state authorities, recommending ECDIS training become regulation, merely back up the case.

There is a staggering array of available systems, while comparable training packages are virtually non-existent.

Mobile Marine Technology has addressed this issue by creating training solutions customised to client requirements.

YOU choose the system and the training location.

WE provide the training you need.

Whether you are a single vessel or fleet operator, Mobile Marine Technology can supply all your ECDIS training needs.

Courses currently available are:

ECDIS PART 1 & 2

BEFORE taking up the baton, make sure each member of your team is up to speed.

Conversion to ECDIS navigation systems is a major commitment by all who undertake it.

Ensuring all front line users are fully capable system operators is essential to the success of the conversion.

Mobile Marine Technology has developed fully Computer Aided Training capable training programs to ensure just that.

Program delivery can be customised to adapt to individual client needs and is available in two parts:

ECDIS Part 1

  • One day introductory and familiarisation level program designed to ensure confident system operation
  • Conducted at your base or onboard while in harbour
  • Full Computer Aided Training facility provided by us
  • Utilising brand specific training software
  • Training manual and pack provided
  • Maximum of five trainees per course
  • Individual student evaluation system ensures successful course completion

ECDIS Part 2

Trainees who have completed the ECDIS Part 1 training program are now able to upgrade their operational capabilities by undertaking additional training which will optimise their system operation capabilities.

This is a one or two day* program covering advanced system usage, including AIS & ARPA where required.

  • Maximum of five students per course
  • First day conducted at your base or onboard whilst in harbour
  • Full CAT** facility provided by us
  • Second day onboard whilst in harbour or underway***
  • Utilising brand specific software
  • Final individual evaluation available to student and employer

ECDIS (MCA Approved*)

MOBILE MARINE TECHNOLOGY,while complying with the resolutions, can optimise training delivery through experienced trainers, in classroom scenarios, with the latest IT and software.

Adopting a fully interactive CAT** based training format, and utilising type specific software wherever possible, Mobile Marine Technology has developed a modular training program designed to ensure the fullest successful course completion.

Taking and adapting the IMO suggestion of CBT courses, Mobile Marine Technology combines the quality of classroom training with the practicality and cost saving of individual CBT, all at a highly competitive price.

Our ECDIS (Approved*) training courses run for four days and cover all areas outlined in IMO resolutions. Training can be provided utilising our own CAT** capability or installed systems on client vessels.

*Approval pending / **Computer Aided Training

TRAINING FOR TRAINERS

As a fleet operator, are you concerned about turnover of staff and bridge personnel?

It can quickly undermine the operational capacity of new technology, such as ECDIS.

OR it can allow you to demonstrate the effectiveness of your 'in house' training...

Thanks to Mobile Marine Technology's 'type specific' ECDIS 'training for trainers'.

This capability is designed to optimise training delivery and maximise the knowledge retention and operational ability of trainees.

It will help you ensure all new watch keepers are fully conversant with the operation of your chosen ECDIS ... maintain standards ... and secure the safe operation of the system.

As a relatively new technology, ECDIS places a number of unique training demands upon both trainers and trainees, especially given the generic nature of most available training courses.
